Must Read: Fairytale Interrupted

If you are at all a fan of JFK Jr. and Carolyn, this book is a must read for you.

I finished last night with tears streaming down my face. Typically, I find books written about celebrities that  have passed away to be salacious and gross, feeding into many stereotypical theories about them. However, this book is anything but. Written by their personal assistant for five years, Rosemarie Terenzio, the book offers a heartwarming, interesting and intimate look into one of the most photographed couples of all time. Her storytelling voice makes the couple real, with the same problems many young couples face. I personally believe Carolyn was one of, if not THE, best dressed woman of the century.

I applaud Terenzio for painting a beautiful picture of a much loved and dearly missed couple, while reminding us all of the fragility of life. You won't be disappointed by this amazing book!

Gywenth Loft Love

I know this isn't new news by any means, but when reviewing my inspiration files recently, I came across the loft Gywneth lived in while filming Country Strong in Nashville. I lived in Nashville for nine years before moving to LA, so the city has a big place in my heart. Here is a bit of the finished space:
Such great simplicity and lines. Especially incredible given the time restraints that were put on the amazing designer Annette Joseph . You can see more of the loft on GOOP , you won't be disappointed!

More Agate Love, Valentine's Edition

I know this is a couple of days late, but just wanted to share the fun goodies my hubs picked up for me for the special day. Luckily we celebrated the Sunday before, because he had food poisoning the day of! Not the most romantic way to spend the evening, but at least the poor guy is better now! Now for the fun part...
Gift #1
This gorgeous agate (I know, obsessed) necklace from Vivre . Unfortuntely it is no longer available on the site, but it is SO gorgeous in person. Recieved many compliments on it already!

Gift #2:

This Tory Burch cosmetics case in orange. LOVE. Have I mentioned I am obsessed with orange too? I'm actually using it as a clutch instead of cosmetics bag because it's super roomy and I think it's way too cute to hide away in my bag!

How was your Valentines?

Wedding Cake Love

What is it about wedding cakes that makes me so obsessed? Even though I was married last June, I still consistently find myself flipping through Martha Stewart Weddings while waiting in the market check out line. Although my wedding cake time has passed, I have several girlfriends getting married in the upcoming months so I enjoy passing on favorites to them. Here is one of my current faves:

Dylan Lauren's bridal shower cake as seen on Martha Stewart. AMAZING!!!

Here is my wedding cake from last June:

It was inspired by a cake photo I found in a Japanese fashion magazine. I didn't want it too look "too wedding" and I found this cake to be just whimsical enough while keeping with the overall feel of our reception. I found the little glitter birds (actually magnets) at Pearl River in NYC.

Amazing Agate

I don't know what it is, but I find myself absolutely mesmerized by anything and everything agate. In a constant search for that special piece that won't break the bank, I came across this by Richard Mishaan @ HSN:
Richard Mishaan Agate Plate - Natural
It was love at first sight and even though I had put myself on shopping lock down from the previous weekend of too much buying and dining in San Francisco, I caved. Although I haven't received it yet, I'm already furiously debating what I should use it for (bedside table, to display perfumes, for candles or a wonderful cheese plate).

It reminds me a lot of these that I have admired at Rablabs for quite some time:

Absolutely lovely, but a significantly higher price point. Don't you love it when you find something you have been wanting forever at a price you don't feel guilty about?

***Update: I received it and love it! The quality is amazing and now I just need to make the final decision of how to use it!
